11.5. Interface Support

Controls differ widely in what they expose, so an interface is not available on every device. This section lists, interface by interface, which systems and models support it. It is the reference for deciding whether a given machine can supply a given value.

It applies to every transport: the HTTP APIs, the MQTT RPC commands and the collection tasks all use the same interfaces and have the same support.

Key:

Mark	Meaning
✓	Supported: the current version can read (or write) this data on this system and model.
◐	In development: the protocol is covered by the communication library the gateway uses, but the integration is unfinished. The marks show what will be available once it is.
✗	Not supported: the control itself does not offer the interface, so the gateway cannot support it.

Note

The tables describe the interface itself. Whether data can actually be read also depends on the optional functions enabled on the machine (Fanuc DNC permission, Heidenhain Option 18 and the like), on correct network and port settings, and on the tasks included in the gateway licence. PLCs and other devices are read mainly through the PLC data interfaces. Common values such as machine status, part count and current alarms can be taken from the result of a PLC task instead of the native interface; for the command format see 11.2.1. PLC Data Task.

11.5.6. Field Support

The same interface does not return the same fields on every system. The tables below list, per data class, the fields that differ between systems: a field not listed here is returned by every system that supports the interface, and 4.2. Data Description explains what it means. A system that does not support the interface is absent from these tables; for that question see 11.5.2. CNC Machine Tools.
